Sittin’, Sippin’, Slappin’

Parker Jane continues to amaze us every day. She’s getting so big and so much older (5 1/2 months!). This month has been one of major accomplishments in her development. In a matter of one week, Parker Jane started to sit up, drink from a sippy cup, babble consonants at unpredictable volumes, and slap her hands as if she were beating on a drum. She also discovered her feet and the wonder of toes.

Also another first recently… as I was reading Goodnight Moon to PJ, she would grab the pages as I turned them and move them back and forth. When we were done with the story, I turned back to the beginning and let PJ play with the pages again. She actually started turning the pages of the book on her own! Well, I did help her out by getting her hand on a singular page, but she would take it and turn it, and reach out for the next page! She’ll be a bookworm just like I was.

Babies constantly change and grow by nature, but in the last few weeks, I’ve noticed that Parker Jane has entered a new phase of baby-hood. I often catch glimpses of what she’ll look like as a little girl months and months from now. Her personality seems to burst from her, and it is genuinely good-natured. She’s just so happy to look back at another smiling face. A reward in itself.

Oh, and don’t forget to check out our Flikr page; we uploaded new photos today. We’ll be on vacation for a couple of weeks but will be back with lots of new photos at the end of the month. Thanks for staying “tuned in” to our blog. Our only excuse for not posting more is that we that we have a five-month old to keep busy. Here is a video treat for our faithful viewers:
